
Saturday's concert features special guest artist Michael Delfin, winner of the Young Pianist's Beethoven Competition, performing Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata. Tenor Douglas Thomas will join pianist Allen Bishop in a selection of Beethoven Lieder. Allen Bishop and violinist Barbara Coventry will also perform the Beethoven Violin Sonata Opus 12, No. 1.
Claude Lise-LaFranque, violin, Ervin Klinkon, cello, and Allen Bishop, piano, will perform Beethoven Trio Opus 70, No. 1. A special Young Artist performance will also be featured.
Both concerts in the Sixth Annual Beethovenfest are free and open to the public.
The Santa Barbara Beethovenfest is a California non-profit Public Benefit Corporation devoted to promoting the music and life of Ludwig Van Beethoven. Its mission is to provide an opportunity for professional and gifted amateurs to perform the music of Ludwig Van Beethoven in a common venue.
The Beethovenfest organizes several free concerts each year within the State of California. It also organizes a series of lectures, exhibits, and concerts. One of the annual concerts is organized for the purpose of benefiting another local or regional non-profit group.
